Chapters 9-12 Summary

Chapter 9. Dresden tells Cat Sith he needs to go to Chicago, and the malk opens a closet door in Dresden's suite, which opens onto Michigan Avenue. For the night, it is the only entrance between the human world and the land of Faerie. As he steps out into his home, a flashy old hearse pulls up, Dresden's new car. He opens the driver's side door to find it full of Wee Folk, a tiny army of winged faeries led by Toot in Dresden's support. Dresden goes to Waldo Butters' apartment, and finds it protected by magic. He breaks in, and his presence fries the computer. Dresden's spirit assistant, Bob, greets him in shock. When Bob finds that Dresden is now Mab's hit man, he is upset. Then Dresden realizes the spirit is stalling, distracting him. He is attacked from behind by...
