Summary

In Chapter 9, "The Enclave,” Tessa practices being Camille but cannot access her memories, making it more difficult. She cannot control the appearance of the fangs, and Will says they appear when she is hungry. Jem, Will, and Tessa hide when the Enclave arrives. Benedict Lightwood is among the members. His son, Gabriel, is present, and he clearly hates Will. Will, Jem, and Tessa are ordered out of the room. Gabriel tells Jem he should find a new parabatai, and Tessa tells Gabriel he is being rude. Jem, Tessa, and Will go to the room directly above the meeting and Will draws a rune that allows them to see through the floor and hear the proceedings.
