Summary

“CivilWarLand in Bad Decline” is set in in Civil War-themed amusement park called CivilWarLand. The unnamed protagonist/narrator is an employee at the theme park. His pay is fairly low; his duties range from managerial tasks to menial labor. The park is becoming unprofitable, and the owner—Mr. Alsuga—is trying to attract new investors. However, gangs of local teenagers have been vandalizing the park and even attacking visitors, which discourages new investors. Alsuga decides that one of the employees will have to be secretly tasked with using violence against the gangs to deter them. Alsuga chooses employee Ned Quinn, as Quinn has six children to support and therefore cannot afford to quit his job. Alsuga give Quinn a gun with live ammunition to be used against gang members, and Quinn feels he has no choice but to acquiesce. However, Quinn is ineffectual...
