Abandoned subway tunnels

Abandoned subway tunnels are where Camille has been secretly meeting Alec. She and Alec discuss the possibility of eradicating Magnus’s immortality. Alec is very intrigued by this possibility, but he will have to kill Raphael to have Camille help him. Alec ultimately decides against this, though Magnus still breaks up with him in the subway tunnels when he learns of Alec’s duplicity. It is in the tunnels that Alec encounters Maureen, who reveals she has killed Camille. The abandoned subway tunnels, far underground, can through these events be seen as metaphorical for low points and symbolic of evil based on their location underground, like Hell.
