Shadowhunters are the people from a magical land who hunt demons and protect humanity from evil Downworlders.

Forsaken

Forsaken used to be normal people. When a normal human receives shadowhunter marks, it can kill them. When someone subjects a human to many shadowhunter marks, that human may become a Forsaken instead. The Forsaken do not rest, and are insane and strong. They will ruthlessly carry out the orders of their maker or die trying.

The Clave

The Clave is the ruling body of shadowhunters.

The Circle

The Circle is a group of shadowhunters who feel that all downworlders should be destroyed, protecting the "purity" of humanity.
