Chapters 26-33 Summary

Anita walks into her apartment and can sense that someone is there. It is Edward. Edward demands to know the name of the Master of the City. If Anita won't tell, Edward will shoot. Edward also asks what happened to Anita's mouth. Anita tells Edward about Alejandro. Anita also tells Edward that Alejandro is the Master of the City. The pair agrees to go after the master vampire together.

Chapter 27 begins with Anita in the midst of yet another dream. Jean-Claude is trying to seduce Anita but she refuses. The phone rings and wakes Anita.

Irving Griswold, a newspaper reporter, is on the other end of the line. Irving and Anita are friends. Irving has called to tell Anita that Jeremy Ruebens was on the morning news saying that he and Humans First saved Anita from the Master of the City...
