Chapter 10 Summary

Nan is happy that her mother is working late, since the dance is in the same hotel where Emily works. Nan says she wants her mother to meet her friends. Mother and daughter understand that Nan is not taking her friends to her house. Nan does not expect the guys in the group to take her away from home. She expects better.

Kit tells Eve that she would rather go to the movies than the sherry party, but she compliments Eve's dress. Eve is borrowing her outfit from Kit. Kit gives her earrings, and Eve protests but then thanks her after thinking about Frank. Eve thinks she looks like a blackbird. Kit laughs and says that Eve is gorgeous and nutty, but maybe people will not notice the last part.
