Chapter 9 Summary

Because Peggy Pine's niece Clodagh worked in shops in Dublin, she has many ideas for Peggy's shop. Annabel suggests that Benny befriend her. Eddie says that Sean does not like Peggy, and Benny responds that she likes Peggy, then. Annabel says that Benny needs a friend since Eve is gone. Benny comments that she sees Eve at school. Annabel counters that Eve has her own life, and she is with Nan a lot. Benny is quiet as her mother says that change happens and that Benny will find friends at home.
