Chapter 8 Summary

Benny wants to lose weight for her date. She stays in the library during lunch, and she hides her dieting at home. Benny knows that she cannot tell her parents about the diet because they will tell her that she looks good and worry about her. Benny wishes she could go on her date small like Eve or pretty like Nan.

Since Benny is gone, Nan and Eve spend lunch together. Eve tries to figure out Nan's charm. She tells Kit that Nan allows her to fit in at school. Eve says she is in Nan's shadow, but Kit disagrees. Eve says it does not bother her. She says Nan is unique. Kit asks if she is the campus star. Eve says Nan does not act that way, but Rosemary with all her makeup.....
