By Christmas Eve the woman and Truman are broke. Truman draws paper ornaments. The woman cuts them out and hangs them on the tree. Once they finish decorating, the woman declares it is the most beautiful tree. They make presents for everyone. Women relatives get color scarves. Male relatives get syrup that can be used to clear a cough or heal ailments after hunting. Although they would love to get each other elaborate gifts, Truman and the woman secretly make kites to give each other for Christmas.
