Children of Dune (pgs. 234-278) Summary

Jessica uses prana-bindu training to suppress her emotions as she awaits Idaho. He claims he is on Salusa Secundus for the same reason as she, but Jessica doubts he has sufficient data to penetrate a secret only she and Ghanima share. Knowing their conversation is being overheard Jessica speaks of House Atreides reaching a "bitter crossroads." Idaho refuses to talk about the Harkonnens, while wondering if she doubts Paul has revealed her secret to him. Idaho demands to know now who is House Atreides, and reports that many Fremen eloquently curse Muad'Dib and his House. Jessica shudders at the words, but wonders why Idaho reveals this to Farad'n.

Jessica points out that this is a powerful argument for Farad'n and Ghanima marrying, but Idaho reproaches such single-mindedness. As Fremen, Ghanima.....
