Section II, 128 - 141 Summary

Lester begins to spend most of his time wandering the mountainside, stalking young couples in cars. From time to time, he goes back down into town to talk to locals. One day he wanders into a store and bargains with people over three watches. Lester tries to bargain with the other customers, but he does not really know how to interact with other people. He is gruff and disgruntled. Finally, he talks one man into buying a watch. As Lester returns to back to the Frog Mountain, he becomes nervous when he sees other footprints. Lester scrambles to find where he has hidden his rifle. He finally realizes that they are just his tracks and appears to calm down.

Lester continues to discover more about the mountain. He enjoys it.....
