Section I , 44 - 60 Summary

A few days later, a man named Darfuzzle goes by Lester's house. He lets Lester know that the woman from Frog Mountain is claiming that Lester took all of her clothes and raped her. Lester calls the woman a liar and is angry with Darfuzzle for bringing the news. The Sheriff of Sevier County goes to Lester's home to arrest him. The sheriff curses Lester and brings him down to the police station to interrogate him.

The woman from Frog Mountain is also at the station. She begins to curse at Lester and accuse him of raping her. She also questions the sheriff and asks him where the other two men are. The sheriff is confused at first, but she also still maintains that Lester did something to her......
