Chapter 22 Summary - A Warm Wind
Wilbur returns home to his beloved barn cellar. He is happy, having won a prize for Zuckerman, thereby assuring that he will not be killed. Months pass, and he thrives, content to spend his time waiting for the baby spiders to arrive, but sad at times, remembering his friend, Charlotte. Fall comes and goes, then winter, until it is finally spring.
One spring morning, Wilbur notices a tiny spider crawling from the sac, followed by several more baby spiders. Charlotte's children have arrived! For several days, the babies crawl around, waving at Wilbur and exploring their surroundings. Then one day, the children begin floating away - they explain to Wilbur that they are aeronauts, and that they are flying away to make homes for themselves.
