Summary

In Chapter 8, Celine and Pete sleep in the camper during the night and eat breakfast at a diner. As Celine and Pete leave the diner, Celine notices a man in the diner who seems to be attempting not to be noticed. The man is wearing a baseball cap and is keeping his face down. In Chapter 9, Celine and Pete drive by Grand Teton National Park, which is about 30 miles south of Yellowstone. They park their truck and camper near the forest. Celine calls Gabriela on the phone and asks about the file of notes that Celine wrote down when Gabriela questioned people immediately following Paul’s disappearance. Gabriela, sounding nervous, eventually admits that the notebook was recently stolen from her apartment, along with an old passport that had belonged to Paul.
