Point of View

Cavedweller is narrated by an omnipresent third-person narrator, with the focus continually shifting between the major and minor characters. The story is told mostly through Delia and Cissy’s point of view, however nearly every character is given an opportunity to have their thoughts and opinions placed on the page at one point or another. Each chapter involves several different plot threads, and thus includes several character’s points of view. This allows readers to have a fuller, clearer picture of the motivations and desires of all the characters in Cavedweller, instead of just the protagonists.

Generally, Allison gives each character who is in point of view about a full scene before switching to the next one, but not always.
