Delia Byrd

Delia Byrd is one of the two protagonists in Cavedweller. She grew up in Cayro and married Clint Windsor, having two daughters with him, Amanda and Dede. Clint was physically abusive to Delia, and one night she ran away because Clint was about to kill her. Delia is forced to leave her two daughters behind, something that she ends up regretting for the rest of her life. On the run, Delia came upon the Mud Dog tour bus, where she met Randall Pritchard, the charismatic lead singer of Mud Dog. Delia joined the band and found success as a singer-songwriter, began a relationship with Randall, and had Cissy with him. However, the pain of leaving Amanda and Dede still weighs heavily on Delia, and she takes to drinking to cope. By the opening of the novel, she has been working on her sobriety for some time.
