Summary

Nolan tells Cissy that he has an important audition in Atlanta for Emory University, and that if he is accepted, he will go. Cissy is shocked, asking Nolan if he is leaving Cayro. Nolan says that he wants to move with Dede to Atlanta so that she will be happy and able to pursue more opportunities, especially related to cars. Cissy warns Nolan that Dede does not like surprises, and might want to stay in Cayro, and Nolan implies that he will build his entire life around Dede’s whims. Nolan also begins to suspect that Dede may be pregnant. Sheila, a waitress at Goober’s (a bar Nolan and Dede frequent), comes by to bring Nolan something he had forgotten and kisses him, which Dede sees, infuriating her.
