Summary

Cissy befriends a boy named Nolan Reitower, whose mother Nadine despises Delia. Cissy and Nolan bond over their mutual love of science fiction, and he even offers to let Cissy borrow from his collection. Cissy greatly enjoys his friendship and considers him her first true friend in Cayro. When Nolan sees Dede for the first time, he quickly falls in deep love with her, though Dede is dismissive of him and his advances.

Dede begins spending time with two teenage boys under the guise of learning how to drive, though Dede is more interested in driving and the boys have other priorities.
