Birdie finally gets on a plane for Oakland at 3 p.m., after waiting at the airport most of the day. Before she gets on board, Birdie calls Dot. Her aunt is angry that Birdie has been missing for a day and a half. Dot asks Birdie to live with her permanently, but Birdie knows she has to find Cole and her father.
