Chapter 17 High Soul Burn Summary
Too upset to return to the apartment immediately, Birdie walks to a nearby park to find Ali Parkman. This time she tells Ali the whole truth. Birdie tells him how important it is that she find Cole and her father. Ali laughs. He has lied himself. Ali does know where his father is. Ali takes Birdie to a gray townhouse where his father, a film director, is living in a homosexual relationship with an aristocratic white man.
Ronnie Parkman confides that Sandy Lee's entire cohort, called the Boston Four, disappeared that same year. Linda, a Puerto Rican "bull dyke," was turned in by her lover last year and is serving fourteen years in jail.
