Chapter 15 Summary

Present: Elaine misses her plane the next morning because she has a hangover. She walks down to the bridge one last time. She notices things haven't changed much. She thinks of Stephen's jar of marbles buried down below somewhere. She sees the place where she fell into the ravine and where she heard the voice tell her it was all right. Now she knows there was no voice and no lady that helped her that dayonly darkness and silence. Elaine thinks she sees Cordelia and feels the same sick and shameful feelings, but knows these are Cordelia's emotions and always were. Elaine feels stronger now and tells Cordelia it is all right and she can go home now. The woman is not Cordelia. Elaine feels there is nothing more for her there. Whatever.....
