Chapter 6 Summary

Present: Elaine is still at Simpson's in the basement having a cappuccino. She thinks about her childhood and her mother. Elaine remembers a series of art works she did of her mother after she died hoping to keep her timeless. As she goes back up the escalator, there is a drunk, disheveled woman asking her for money. At first she thinks the lady is Cordelia, but then realizes she is not. Elaine is always giving helpless people money and then she feels helpless and guilty. She thinks she is good to do this, but knows she is not a good person because she thinks she is vengeful and greedy.

Flashback: Elaine comes back from the vacation and immediately feels empty. Elaine is in fifth grade with Carol. Cordelia waits for Elaine at the bus.....
