Katniss Everdeen

Katniss Everdeen is a sixteen-year-old girl from District 12 who the year before won the Hunger Games with Peeta Mellark after volunteering to be a tribute in her sister's place. Katniss is now wealthy and has a larger, comfortable home, but she continues to sneak beyond the fence of District 12 to hunt wild game. Katniss can still see the hunger and desperation among her old friends and neighbors. This causes her a great amount of guilt.
