Part 2, Chapter 6, Electrostatic Forces Summary

Teri skips school to work on the house with the volunteers; Kate brings Mikey to preschool, which is also at Merryweather High. Kate doesn't speak to Mitch in chemistry. At home, Teri gives Mikey and Kate a tour of the progress on the house. Teri approaches everything with real authority, explaining framing and load-bearing beams and how the flow of the house should be. Kate then participates in some of the work.

Kate talks to her father that evening, who refuses to help her appeal MIT's decision because he thinks she's too focused on MIT. Kate meanwhile continues bringing Mikey to preschool, and helping out around the house. In turn, her father and brother give her more space.
