Cross believes that Pierce intends to kill the doctor with whom Isabella was having an affair, Dr. Martin Straw. Cross, Sampson, and the FBI stake out Straw's house, but Pierce fails to show up. Cross believes that Pierce has spotted the police. Suddenly Sampson spots Pierce's car. Cross and Sampson give chase.
