Part Two: Monsters Hunt, Chapters 20-27 Summary

Soneji walks into Penn Station with the same confidence he showed when he entered Union Station. Soneji has already put things in motion and has begun the next step in his plan. Soneji walks boldly up to a man and stabs him before turning and stabbing another. Soneji stabs them in such a way as to produce the most blood possible. Back in Washington D.C., Cross has tracked down Christine at the school. Cross demands to know why she will not see him again. Christine confesses that the danger of his job scares her. Cross tries to assure her. They share a kiss, but it is interrupted by Cross's beeper.

The New York City police arrive at Penn Station. The investigation is to be run by Detective Manning Goldman. Goldman is not an overly friendly person...
