Summary

The last chapter begins back at the Visby residence with Kay and Bob Whittaker. Kay made a lavish dinner on the same night that the fire took place at the plant later that night. She tried to be the perfect wife and think of her husband in good regard. Promising herself that she would not bring up what she had discovered about him and his affair earlier that day with the odd call and the postcard. She tried to forgive him without confronting him. She brought up the postcard anyway though. The reader knows, however, that it was written by Maggie with the simple line, “I will be there,” signaling their meeting that was supposed to be later that night. Their meeting that they planned over the phone in the previous chapter. Kay tried to not blame him, but she could not help it...
