Summary

1968: construction had begun on the World Trade Center. Mrs. J, having been retired for a few years, was ecstatic. Mrs. J remembered when she was confronted with critics about the integrity and strength of the buildings and she proudly claimed that not even a commercial airliner going 600 miles an hour would take it down; ironic.

Maggie continued to cope with the still missing Pauline. She talked about Tammis, a friend of hers and Pauline’s from the P.A. They all used to spend time together. Here, Maggie admitted that she shamefully felt embarrassed when in public with Pauline. She even called Pauline trash at one point. She described Pauline as being eccentric and wearing revealing clothing all the time and to Maggie and Tammis’ impressions, was not a classy lady.
