Summary

Chapter 21 begins with Louis staking out Daniel’s house with Joe in Joe’s car. He is shivering as they sit in the car in the freezing weather, watching a party in the house through the snow. Louis feels that with the validation of Joe’s insane beliefs has come a sense that everything is ominous.

They see Daniel in the doorway and Joe climbs out of the car. Louis joins him, eager for the warmth of the house, but worries that the partygoers will notice that they do not belong. Joe brushes off his concern and the two enter the house. Inside, Louis follows Joe as he cuts though the crowd looking for signs of Daniel’s marijuana growing and distribution operation.
