September Summary

Monday 4 September: Today is Bridget's first day at the new job. Her mother calls to invite her to Mark Darcy's parents' ruby wedding. She tells Bridget to wear smart, bright colors. Bridget has a tough first day finding her way around, and is late to her first morning meeting. However, she does make a brilliant suggestion during that meeting.

Saturday 9 September: Bridget's mother shows up at her flat unannounced, begging her to attend Mark Darcy's parent's ruby wedding. The party will be held at Mark's new house. Bridget refuses to attend and be made a fool of once again. Bridget attends dinner that night with the Smug Marrieds, who now invite her to their Saturday night gatherings, because they feel sorry for her break-up.
