August Summary

Tuesday 1 August: Following her discovery of Daniel's companion, Bridget has fallen to pieces. She laments that Daniel is sleeping with the goddess, her mother is sleeping with a Portuguese man, Magda's husband is sleeping with a younger woman and Prince Charles is sleeping with Camilla Parker Bowles. Bridget can't bear the thought of having to go to work. She's sure that Daniel's cheating has to do with her being fat. Bridget calls her mother, who says that all men are selfish beasts. She reminds Bridget that he has to work with her and to give him hell. She also promises Bridget she'll get her out of that job and get her a job in television.
