Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is a novel by Helen Fielding. It is the third installment in her Bridget Jones series. When the story begins, thirty-five year old Bridget is dating twenty-nine year old Roxster. Roxster is her first serious relationship years after the death of her husband Mark. Bridget does not want to be alone anymore. However, she wants to be a good mother and have a career. Over the course of a year, she struggles to balance a dating life, a home life, and a career. Ultimately, things do not work out with Roxster because of the age difference. Bridget ends up dating Scott Wallaker, a military veteran-turned-teacher, who has two kids of his own.
