Nazneen observes Karim closely, but inconspicuously. Karim tells her that his uncle owns the "sweatshop" which she works for. Karim is sure of himself, but he stammers when he speaks Bengali. The second time he stops by the flat, Karim comes running in with a box of "filthy leaflets" he had snatched from members of the Lion Hearts, an organization he describes as "a front."
