Chapter 32, Visitations in the Night Summary

The priests of a seminary are practicing football. Their coach, Father Joe McGeaney, shouts at them from the sideline. Nineteen-year-old Bernard McIvor (Father Bernard) is one of the seminarians playing football. That evening, Bernard awakes in the middle of the night because of lurid dreams about sex with women. He struggles with the apparitions of his dream, noticing the sweat-stained sheets on his bed. Suddenly, Father Bernard is receiving his breakfast from a young girl who looks like Mitzi Gaynor.

When Terence enters Patrick's room, Patrick is screaming his father's name yelling, "I'll fucking kill him!" Terence says that Patrick must learn to forgive.
