Chapters 38-40 Summary

In Chapter 38, Victoria finds a sign for a protest on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) and she makes plans to go. Tired of takeout, she decides to stop by the market to get some good food to make for dinner. While making dinner at home, Victoria's mom comes in from work, sees what Victoria is making and they share a laugh about Victoria's ability to cook. They decide to have dinner together and Victoria enjoys having a real dinner where she and her mom are just themselves.

Victoria is spending time with her dad in his workshop in chapter 39. She realizes how much she enjoys the quiet time they spend together working. Victoria tells her dad that she may not want to go to college right away and she asks him if she can go to Poland with him to work on...
