Chapter 37 Summary

Carlos has the dead bodies of Gen. Rodchenko and the KGB operative, who headed Rodchenko's surveillance team, in his vehicle along with a still alive young KGB man who is tied hand and foot with painful wire. Driving out to the countryside, he dumps the bodies unceremoniously and yanks the young KGB man brutally from the car. Carlos has learned that Bourne is in Moscow, that his own people in Paris had betrayed him. He knows he is dying but believes the death of Jason Bourne will "renew his life." (Page 560)

After disposing of his kills, Carlos goes to an abandoned building and waits for what he plans to be his new army in Moscow. Using fake dossiers on people high up in office, he tries to recruit their underlings to help him form a new cadre. Carlos is greatly out of touch...
