Summary

Chapter 14

In Chapter 14, Emma and Will have been hiding in Bernie’s condo for six days when they decide to leave. They sneak into the medical building, where they find a man named Allan who used to work at the same farm with Will. He appears to be on their side and leads them to Michael’s private lab, where the find Bernie. The hide and hear a conversation in which Michael talks with Bernie about Anna and after Bernie says he will kill and bury her, Michael leaves. They find Anna unconscious because Bernie has been secretly drugging her to make it appear she is brain damaged. Although Emma is unsure they can trust Bernie, she gets into his truck with Will, Anna and Allan and they head out of the city.
