Chapters 6-10 Summary

Chapter 6. It is shut down, time for bed, in the dorms. Joe tells Garrett that the entire building is rigged with motion detectors so that inmates might not get out of bed at night and wander the building. Garrett is also informed that the doors lock down for forty-five seconds anytime a motion detector is activated. Joe then leaves, leaving two level five inmates in charge, Ron and Jon. Several other boys, Adam, David, and Robert, take Paul, a young, nervous boy, down to the bathrooms as everyone else prepares for bed. In seconds Garrett can hear Paul screaming and the sounds of a beating. When Ron and Jon do nothing, Garrett goes down to the bathroom and stops the beating.
