Torey is in the hospital refusing to eat. He is under the care of a psychiatrist because he has not spoken or eaten in five days. Torey wakes as the nurse brings in his breakfast. The nurse knows Torey is not asleep and tries to goad him into responding to her. Finally, Torey makes a threat against her, one that causes her to pick up the phone and call his psychiatrist. When the psychiatrist comes, he tells Torey how long he has been in the hospital and that he cannot see either his parents or Ali until he eats something.
Torey does not want to eat because he cannot get the memory of the body or the smell as the invisible fire engulfed it out of his head. The doctor tries to get Torey.....
