Chapter 20 Summary

Once at home, Torey and Ali find Torey's mother sitting in her office, clearly upset about something. Mrs. Adams tells Torey and Ali that the chief of police beat up Bo after he told the chief about his revelation to Renee the night before. Apparently Renee had not told the chief that she knew, and the chief lost his temper. Chief Bowen submitted his resignation soon after. Mrs. Adams assures Ali that Bo is not seriously injured and that she will have him released first thing on Monday. Torey tells her about the psychic, and she assures them that Chris is not dead. Mrs. Adams believes that Chris only ran away and that he is safe somewhere.

Torey cannot sleep that night, so he suggests to Ali that they go into the woods despite.....
