Torey's dad gives him a ride home. Mr. Adams is not happy that Torey is spending time with a boy like Bo Richardson and seems unaffected by Torey's adamant defense of Bo. Mr. Adams tells Torey that Bo does not need to worry right now about murder charges, but the phone call could cost him dearly because he confessed before the police could fingerprint the phone. Torey is upset by this revelation because Bo did not tell them and because Bo is taking the rap for him.
Unable to relax, Torey goes to the basement and retrieves his guitar, hoping it will help. This causes him to remember a time the year before when Torey played his guitar in the cafeteria at school and Bo asked to play it some day. Torey said something.....
