Chapter 13 Summary

When Ali and Torey get on the school bus the next morning together, they are instantly bombarded with questions from Ryan, Renee and Alex. Not only do they want to know why Ali is getting on with Torey, but they also want to know if the rumors about how they were arrested with Bo Richardson are true. Torey attempts to avoid the questions but finds it difficult. Frustrated, Torey moves to another seat and strikes up a conversation with an unpopular boy in his class.

In homeroom, Torey falls asleep on his desk. Alex wakes him and chastises him for turning on his friends. Alex says they are trying to protect him from rumors beginning to spread around school. However, Torey cannot make himself take Alex into his confidence. Somehow Torey's friends seem shallow.....
