When Torey arrives at Ali's house, Ali takes him directly to her bedroom and warns him that if her mother's boyfriend shows up, they will have to leave immediately. Ali shows Torey the window through which she can see directly into Chris Creed's room. Torey can see all the family members in various parts of the house. He watches as Mrs. Creed calls to Chris's two younger brothers to get ready for bed. One of the boys flips her off when her back is turned. Ali points out how clean the bedrooms are and how each of the three boys has exactly the same furniture, the same bedspreads and the same pictures on the wall, except for Chris, who had two extra.
Mrs. McDermott's boyfriend shows up and comes upstairs to say hello. Ali.....
