Anita Blake

A 24 year old professional vampire executioner, Anita Blake is also a necromancer, raising zombies from the dead for Animators, Inc., the largest such firm in the country. Though raising the dead is Blake's official profession, she is also licensed to execute rogue vampires in three states. A vampire can only be executed after a court order has been issued. Ironically, Blake's current lover is Jean-Claude, the Master Vampire of St. Louis. Blake is also part of a triumvirate created by Jean-Claude when he bestowed three of the four vampire marks on her. The third member of the triangle of power is Richard Zeeman, Anita's former fiance. Anita had broken off her engagement to Richard after he had killed the former leader of the local werewolf pack and then eaten him.
