Chapters 13-18 Summary

In chapter 13, Asher and Damian feed from Nathaniel and Anita waits impatiently with the others. Cherry, a were-leopard and former nurse keeps track of Nathaniel's pulse and reports that he is getting better. The vampires stop feeding and Cherry tends to Nathaniel's wounds. Anita is relieved, but it is short lived. Damian hisses, and begins to rot.

In chapter 14, Anita is distraught at the slow rot that is taking away Damian's life. Desperate to save him, Anita asks if there is anything that can be done.

Asher tells her that his original master could take the poison, but not much else would work. Anita reminds Asher that she had called Damian from the grave once, as a necromancer she can raise the dead. Asher is unwilling for Anita to risk herself, but Blake can not ask anyone else to take the risk. She
