Summary

Chapter 19 – Maxine and Heidi meet up. Heidi puts Maxine in touch with her current fling, a detective named Carmine Nozzoli. Carmine allows Maxine access to the federal crime database to do research on Tallis and Darklinear. There, she finds a private number for Darklinear. Maxine places a call to Darklinear, pretending to be from hashslingrz on behalf of Mrs. Ice. The man who answers refuses to talk, saying that hashslingrz does not have that particular number. Maxine begins to wonder if Tallis is merely a front for Gabriel.

Chapter 20 – Maxine meets up with Stu Gotz, owner and operator of Joie de Beavre, a strip joint frequented by Eric Outfield. She dresses up like a stripper and gets Eric to bring her back to Manhattan. Eric has a foot fetish, which Maxine exploits in exchange for information on the Deep Web. She seeks to hire...
