Tracker

Tracker is the novel’s protagonist and narrator. He was raised in the city of Juba by his father and mother, but he left home because his father was abusive. He then goes to the village of Ku and learns that his parents are of the Ku people. He also learns that the man he thought was his father was actually his grandfather and that his real father is deceased. After the Ku murder an innocent woman and children, Tracker turns against them and kills his uncle, who is a Ku leader. In his adulthood, he learns that he has a superhuman ability to track people by their scent, and he makes a living as a spy and mercenary.
