Chapter 10 Summary

The next day Nygurski calls Dave and invites him over to dinner. Before dinner, Nygurski tells Dave that Mapes was a suspect in the kidnapping and murder of a young couple when he was seventeen. The only witness against Mapes was the young man he was accused of assaulting. No one was ever able to pin the murders on Mapes. At the same time, Dave decides it is time to turn the tables on Dio. Dave writes a letter pretending to be Charlie upset about not getting his full pay for taking out Dave and not for putting his life in danger. Dave then sends the letter with a bouquet of flowers that he has a blond man buy for him. In the middle of the night, Dave calls Dio's house and makes threats pretending to be Charlie.
