Chapter 2 Summary

The days slowly pass and Dave spends them enjoying his six year old daughter, Alafair. A short time after Dixie Lee's visit, Dave is visited by a DEA agent from Montana named Dan Nygurski. Nygurski asks Dave about Dixie Lee and suggests that Dixie Lee is involved with a Texas mobster named Sally Dio whom he shared a cell with in prison. The DEA is aware that Dixie Lee has been helping Sally Dio buy up land in Montana and believe that Sally plans to use the land to import and export illegal drugs. Nygurski wants Dave to give him any information he has on Dixie Lee in regards to Sally, but Dave has nothing to tell him. Dave has trouble sleeping that night, his mind filled with memories of Anne, his wife.
